  • @MatchboxHeaven Actually, much like his older contemporary, Beethoven, whom he idolized, Schubert is a transition composer who bridges between the Classical and Romantic eras, belonging to the end of the First Viennese School. Like many Romantic composers, he hearkened back to their idea of the medieval sound in several pieces. One of his Moments Musicaux especially does this, evoking a medieval troubadour...
