Chapter 23

Any other girl I treated bad, but not Sel. I'd never, ever, do that to Selena. Oh, and mom of course...When she got out of the vehicle I slammed her door shut in rage as she started walking towards the house entrance. I locked the car over my shoulder with the key, hearing a beeping noise of assurance. We walked inside and yet again I kicked the door shut with such force that the whole hallway rattled.

Nick's POV
Before I could settle back on the bed with Taylor I heard the front door slam shut in an echo through the long corridor from the hallway. It sort of vibrated and cause the girl next to me to stir a little in her slumber. I put the volume up slightly. I knew this would get loud and I'd rather Taylor hearing whatever crap I was watching on t.v. rather than this confrontation and probable conflict between me and Joseph. Carefully I stole my left arm from her left shoulder and exited the room as slowly as possible. I attempted to shut the door quietly, hoping not to wake her. I knew where he'd be. Either the living room or kitchen. Selena was still here but at the moment I couldn't give a shit. Racing down the stairs I stumbled upon that very girl.

"Hi Nick, you alright?" "No, have you seen Joe anywhe-" I cut myself off as my gaze shot from Sel to the figure holding the door so it was ajar. I rushed past Sel and pushed him into the kitchen. "Hey Joe, what you been up to today?" "Oh you know, this and that...what about you?" "Me? Oh I'll tell you what I did today. I arrived home to find a naked bruised and battered girl in MY bed! What the HELL were you thinking?!" "I don't know what you're on about Nick." Joe completely ignored the fact that he knew I knew. Ugh. I hate it when he winds me up. As he was talking to me and I shouted at him he was calmly retrieving a bottle of water from the refridgerator as if he really didn't know what I was on about. Just then Selena came into the room to investigate what was going on.
"You fucking raped and beat Taylor, that is WHAT!" I leaped over towards him and gripped his shoulders tightly and my teeth gritted forcing him to face me. "Maybe you shouldn't lie about your girlfriend next time, hey little Nicky?" He whispered and shrugged my hands off his shoulders easily and walked off out of the kitchen. I turned around to observe him pull Selena away by the hand in shock. My grip on him had loosened almost immediatly once he'd finished that sentence. Shit...Joe did that because I lied about her being my girlfriend? I-I don't get him. At all really. Sometimes he is so great but in the past three years he has always been so confusing. He seems so frustrated and puts on acts a lot of the time. The only reason I knew about him doing drugs was because I caught him once and he knew that I knew he wouldn't do it just as a one-time thing. This, this surely was too far! How could he do that to Taylor? I think the reason he knew her was because she used to come around quite a bit when me and her were about ten and Joe was fourteen. I know he didn't do anything to her then though, she would've told me, right?

Selena's POV
I ripped my hand away from his in a matter of seconds once we'd exited the kitchen. I glared at him in total surprise from the blur I'd just witnessed.
