By a shear stroke of luck, the one day I was testing my new camera mount on the way to work, I caught this accident on the 101 in Los Angeles. The music is Helen Island by Gayle Ellett & Todd Montgomery and is available from this site: http://www.shockwave-sound.com/a/4915b01924

  • Looks like someone was Texting and driving....

  • OKAY.

Firstly, it is entirely the fault of the silver SUV. If you will note, traffic was beginning to move as the mazda was rear ended, and he was releasing the brake pedal (SO THAT COVERS THAT). Secondly, the mazda had plenty of room to change lanes- it is not our business to dispute why the driver switched lanes, but from what you can see in the video, it was both legal and safe. The silver SUV is responsible for all the damage...

Anyone who faults the car in the middle is an idiot.

  • Who wants to be a millionare.

what is the best way to get money?

    a.Marry a millionaire. b.rob a bank.

c.Kill your rich parents. d.get sandwich between two SUVs.

    Correct Answer is.....

  • @MyBabyBenson well i think that everything in the video is the SUV's fault, including the sedan hitting the car in front. but i do want to point out that if you look carefully the sedan actually was engaging its brakes all the way untill the point of impact and i believe the only reason the brake lights went off is because of the driver being jerked forward by the impact. therefore he himself never released the brakes.

  • It was the red Cobalt's fault, the Suburban was distracted by it's hideousness.

  • "If you will note, traffic was beginning to move as the mazda was rear ended, and he was releasing the brake pedal (SO THAT COVERS THAT)" - That was in reference to the middle car hitting the one in front. I don't know i it would have if it was still engaging it's brakes, but the reason that it did was cause traffic was starting to move again.

I still don't think he would be at fault for rear ending the person in front, but I'm not an insurance rep either.

  • @MyBabyBenson You are right except for one thing. The car in the middle IS RESPONSIBLE for hitting the car infront of him. One of the first things you learn when driving is leave enough room between you and the car in front of you.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld why I have been arguing this subject with you.

    Take care.

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld the collision with our truck almost never getting put at fault (there have been a couple cases where the middle driver had no been paying attention or handled the situation very poorly, in which case what you are saying is true). But in one very specific example, we had a collision just like in this video except one of our semi-trucks was where the black SUV was. The car that would have been the silver SUV in that situation was given sole fault for the collision(s). That is

  • @TastyGenitals Indeed they are very different, but when a collision occurs I am one of those who gets to deal with the shit storm, so I've learned quite a bit as well, more so than the average driver for sure. I myself have never had a situation where a truck has hit a car into another car, but I have had a car hit a car into a truck (several times actually, from varying angles of attack), and the first car to hit has always been given fault, with the middle driver who eventually ended up in

  • @mannwhosoldtheworld Commercial trucking and auto insurance are two different subjects my friend, but I suppose you are right, and i'm not just 'preaching' what I believe, it's what I've learned.
