Feketetó CD Relase show in Budapest, Gödör Club 2009.02.06
9. The Devils Path / Ördög útja
Many people come to Negreni from eastern regions, even as far as beyond the Black Sea, to try their luck. This track begins with an eastern musical delicacy, garmon music from Azerbaijan, followed by The Devils Path, one of the traditional dances of the Moldavian Csángós, who make up the easternmost coherent population of Hungarians. Here the rendition is uniquely led by the cimbalom and is recorded as such for the first time ever.

Feketetóra sokan jönnek keletről, a Fekete-tenger vidékéről s még azon is túlról, szerencsét próbálni. Az összeállítás egy keleti zenei ínyencséggel, azerbajdzsáni garmon muzsikával indul, majd a magyarság legkeletibb összefüggő populációját alkotó moldvai csángók egyik tradicionális táncával, az Ördög útjával folytatódik, melyben egyedülálló módon, ezen a lemezen először, a cimbalom a vezető hangszer.

BIOGRAPHY
Balázs Unger (cimbalom), started CimbaliBand together with Szlobodán Wertetics (accordion) in 2006. Earlier he was awarded Young Master of Folk Arts and played in prominent jazz and folk bands like Dresch Quartet, Fonó Folk Band and the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble.

CimbaliBand is not a typical band from the Balkans. As the most popular tunes from this passionate peninsula is dominated by brass instruments, the peculiar formation of CimbaliBand, lead by the cimbalom and the accordion at one time, is a remarkable phenomenon. The harmony of these two along with the violin, tambura, double bass and darbuka creates a sound which springs from deeply rooted traditions yet is undeniably modern. Eclectic folk for an eclectic generation.
