Cutting some holes on a bracket that will hold the DRO's reader head. This is a 3/16" 3 fl endmill, 1600 rpm, 5.4 IPM feedrate, and a 0.070" depth of cut. Little bit of chatter where it changes direction and bites into the largest amount of cutter engagement.

  • Love watching your videos and following your blog! Assuming that bracket is aluminum (looks like it...), I think you can definitely run a more aggressive cut. Looks like your currently taking a 0.001125 chipload. I'd try doubling or tripling your RPM & Feeds. Say, 15IPM at 4500 RPM with a similar DOC...
