Did my apprenticeship in Perth back in those years and used to leave the kitchen around midnight on saturdays and head straight to berlin via home and rock it out every week.

Just saw your message and thought I would let you know that I will try and place all the old footage that I have of the Perth club scene that I have left. A lot has been lost over the years, or taped over ... so what I am trying to do is put it out there for everyone to see before the tapes deteriorate!

Thought I would reply to your message regarding the Berlin nightclub Afrodite nite Pt2 posting that you viewed. i will try and dig out all the old footage that i still have left, but must inform you a lot of the old dance footage has been taped over or has deteriorated over the years!

I will do my best to post what I can okay.

@FatpantsHarry I worked there as a dancer during 91 before I started DJing at Havana. Might have known you. :)

Remember climbing that ladder at the back of the stage and then walking along that rickety walkway to get to the raised platform.

I definately agree. I got in to DJing and the rave scene shortly before paladium became the Berlin. Only DJed there a couple of times since I was just getting established then but was a regular dancer there. There will never be a time like that again. A time where every week there was something new that blew everyone away when it was played.

I know i would be slammed for saying this but that was a very special time, nothing repeated, all brand new, a fresh culture.

Hi Missvanessa1973, stay tuned because I also have some other video footage that I will put on Youtube when I have digitised it. It will be footage from the POWDER parade organised by ARTRAGE. There should be footage from backstage as well with models, hairdressers from 'Head Office', makeup artists and other people in the scene at the time.

You are right ... THE RED PARROT ... the best club Perth has ever had!
