@MadAuralSkills: Its his Violin, on his older videos he plays a different one, I also like more the dark sound. But its not the sound alone wich is amazing about kavakos. Its the fact he plays anything in such a great way... I hope he gets more recognition! Listened to him and pace once live in hamburg the hall was not even 1/4 full... silly people!

There is a lack of warmth to his sound. I'll take Oistrakh, Kogan, Szeryng, and Rabin over Kavakos any day.

This has long been my favorite but I'm a bit tired of Perlman's edition so thank you Very Very Much for introducing Kavakos & Pace... such a wonderful performance, I just couldn't help listen to it again and again...
Actually every new recording that I hear from Kavakos more convinced I become that he is my favorite violinist. (With all my affection to my other favorites)
