Visiting the West Somerset Railway on Saturday 30th July 2011 seemed like a good idea. Not the most intense passenger service, the basic green service utilizing two steam locomotives and a diesel sharing the six trips each way, but also running was a private charter, Steam Engineman courses and two evening specials, meaning another two steam locos would also be in action. However due to traffic and having to leave early the day fell apart. Locomotives that ran were --
| GWR 2-8-0 2884 'Heavy Freight' class number 3850 (passenger & evening fish and chip special)
| BR(W) 2-6-2T 5101 'Large Prairie' class number 4160 (charter)
| GWR 2-6-2T 4575 'Small Prairie' class number 5553 (Steam Engineman & evening diner)
| GWR/WSR 2-6-0 9351 'Mogul' class number 9351 (passenger)
| BRCW Type 3 Class 33 'Crompton' number D6566 (33048) (passenger)
In the end a single round trip was travelled and not much filmed but what I did capture in this video. Please note 5553 and 9351 do not feature.
