1995, I think Lombardo was out to show who was boss when the first Grip Inc. disc came out. Key to getting the tom fills right is lead with the left hand but the right still moves to the next drum for the inverted feel.

Yes I realize how uneven the feet are during the slow section.

@michaelsykes75 I'm left handed. Spent many years playing a traditional righty setup with the hi-hat up pretty high. In 1998 I switched to open handed and it was an ugly painful year getting the endurance in the left hand for all the thrash beats. 80% of double bass is right foot lead including anything over 180bpm. Fills on the snare and toms probably 60% lead right. I'm fairly decent at using the left foot for skank beats but still much better right.

@Bosticman71 you are an awesome musician/drummer Ive been playing drums for nearly 20 years and I'm left handed too but play right handed i have tried the open handed technique and could do it but i'm getting to old and lazy i guess to start over lol i enjoy watching you play keep uploading your video's and would like to see you play some more slayer or anything related to thrash metal thanks 4 replying to my qustion
