Michael is awesome. Love his wife too. I'd love to see him live but I live in the sticks. I own all of his stuff and ths is one of my favorites. Thanks for posting this!

Oh, definitely! A buddy of mine turned me on to Michael Penn when he was coming to town (I guess he doesn't tour that often?), and outside of a mix CD, this was my first exposure to him. I was totally hooked. I wonder, though, if he has a whole closet full of white shirts and black vests?
I particularly enjoyed the little open mic bit he did between songs. Risky, but funny.

Wanna know the most embarrassing thing? I showed up at the Philly concert wearing...a white shirt and black vest. Total coincidence, believe me (I am generally a big fan of the vest as a fashion statement)although at the time I was paranoid it would look like some kind of weird fan thing. (Not that I'm completely above weird fan things, of course ;-)
Anyway, glad to hear you got turned on to Mr. Penn. Seeing him live was what turned me into a huge fan too.
