@vveq If I may offer my own thoughts on the subject: This isn't so much a song about India, as it it about musing about a simpler life. Literalism isn't necessary in art. I prefer juxtapositions in the arts.

This song is so simple, yet tugs at the heart. I love how they used a mellotron for the flute sound. I saw the Big Star/Posies hybrid band back in 1993 at the House of Blues In Hollywood, so glad I saw Alex perform before he passed.

@vveq experimentation is central for rock music, I haven't a clue as for the result though, best thing is to ask the artist straightforward
