The Confederates had Robert E. Lee one of the best Generals that the U.S. had... but when the civil war happened he had family in the south so he didnt wanted to "betray them" so he joined the "revels" (Confederacy). They had a great advantage.

@magicfrog0 War is not a"good" thing, no action in war is good because no matter what it is ruining lives and destroying homes. However I believe that the North's actions during the war were justified, and that they were very lenient to the conquered rebels, certainly more lenient than any other nation's victors during a civil war. If it had been up to me Nathan Bedford Forrest would have been hanged for war crimes for the massacre at Fort Pillow.

You misunderstood. I simply meant that there were no good guys in that war. Everyone had their reasons.

@magicfrog0 The South DID march North, they invaded Kentucky despite its proclaimed neutrality early in the war, invaded Missouri, and invaded Maryland and Pennsylvania, they got routed every time they tried
