Practicing Hovering Autorotations I didn't push the right pedal quick enough to avoid a left out of control rotation and pitching over. I countered with right cyclic and eventually got the right pedal down while pulling some collective and avoided a rollover or blade strike. Close call. Another lesson. The next few autos were much better - but are planned autos "real"? Hopefully they are real enough.

In the military we call these cut-guns. Freeze the collective, stop yaw and drift, then cushion, cushion, cushion. Nerve-wracking, but fun once you get the hang of them. Can you do a full 90 or 180 autorotation from altitude yet?
