they live under gorund as worms for like 15 years then rise up to the top turn into these weird insects at first then in this beautiful insect and die a day after that final transformation

I had one that climbed up to my jeans and hung around there when it was raining. Didn't realize it was hanging onto my pants till i heard some buzzing. Guess it saw the umbrellas I was carrying

They're not ugly, they're rather quite harmless... I love the fact of their hard shell, keeping them well protected against other bugs that may end up trying to eat it.
And to anyone saying that they bite... they don't.
They're just loud, thats the only drawback I can think of, with these little cicada's.
