Hypertension's first look into development from the year 2008.
(C) TDGMods 2008-2009
This project is based upon and inspired by Monolith's Blood. Without Blood this would not be possible. Blood and Blood II are (C) Monolith Productions. Portions fall under the Creative Commons Share-Alike 3.0 license, these portions (C) The Transfusion Team.
This game will be released as freeware on both the PC and Dreamcast platforms. DC will come as a shipped 2-disc set containing the game and a "making of" featurette.
Based upon id Software's DOOM source code. http://edge.sourceforge.net
The game, at the time of creation in 2008, is in a severely unfinished form and the video contains a large amount of bugs, most notably in the sound code. There are still missing graphics, bugs with the weapons, enemies, physics, and models. So it's not in a totally presentable state but I did my best to avoid recording the demo with that stuff too obvious.
This version of the game is running on top of DOOM, which is why you see things from Doom littered around. Doom content was needed solely as placeholder, this content is no longer required.
I would also like to take time and say that this teaser was never intended for the public audience, as it was an internal thing. So stuff in here will look out of place and probably mismatched (DOOM, etc), the music in the teaser isn't from us, blah blah. Alphas are rough in nature, although I'm glad you guys are enjoying it.
Remember it's an alpha and (most) things will change as time progresses.
Addendum (a lookback from 2011):
The game is running sluggish due to the early 3d capabilities of the engine, undeveloped model/light restrictions, and sloppy playback and runtime problems. The newer trailers show how the game engine has advanced since then. As such, I encourage you to visit and subscribe to my channel, which hosts all Official TDGMods media, for the most up to date information on this product. We are aiming for a late 2011, early 2012 release.
thanks man! Comments are appreciated! Have you seen the newest trailers?
Also, this will be completely stand-alone.

Hey, I heard it will play like Strife or Hexen, in the same HUB style, where you don't need to just go direct through the stages, you can explore around on an open environment, is it true? If it is, it's simple great!
r3ini 1 year ago
@r3ini Yes, it will, but the HUBS will be more advanced and you will have multiple optional quests between then if you choose. More like Quake 2's hub system with Strife's centralized map system. There's even parts of a HUB that will take you original levels and all sorts of stuff. Lots of fun and backtracking, etc. ;)

Tell us it will have a map editor, plz!! I just love to create my own maps and episodies!! *-*
Hey, is there any playable demo for download?? :)
ravick007 2 years ago
@ravick007 There will be a map editor and game creator tool. You will be able to mod or use the engine to create your own game. We will be packaging the tools together and releasing them along with the source for all platforms - even the 32X.
