I sang in the chorus of this production in san francisco, before it went to Washington. The tenor is Charles Castronovo, who was fantastic in this role; extremely consistent and lovely singing, which doesn't seem evident in this video. I think it was a bad day or maybe he wasn't feeling well, because he was glorious in each of the SF performances. He was also very friendly and modest throughout the run.
it KILLS me that I live in Southern California, and I have to go to San Diego to enjoy this beautiful opera! LA, OC and even Long Beach, where I live perform the same five tired warhorses constantly, but never this gem.
