i was ok with the way buffy sacrficed herself to seal the gateway in season 5, i was disapointed she had to do it, but the voiceover, what she told dawn on the crane tower was nicely done, and i would have been ok with it ending there... thanks for the upload...

Buffy was supposed to be dead and when she died she was technically already dead and faith was alive so faith was considered the slayer

Faith replace her. Just not till season 7. If you don't count that then the hell mouth open then it close. Why send another?

@massie0107 but then why in season 7 did they talk about if buffy died one of the potentials might get called? If she's already seen to be dead, then her death wouldn't have them called.

@Tushiwushiful cuz she had already died once on season 1 soo in the slayer universe she was already dead... and back then they called kendra and she died and was replaced by faith and since she didnt die she was technically still the slayer "on-call" if u will.. but since buffy was resuscitated both times, they both remained as slayers...

I wonder if anyone can answer me this: When Buffy sacrificed herself for Dawn, why was there no new slayer to replace her, a la Kendra and Faith?
