A piece of music i have been trying to get on for a while , this version played by violin pair Duel set to clips from final fantasy which seemed to fit .
Ashokan Farewell was written by Jay Ungar and it's played many times by him and Molly Mason during Ken Burns' brilliant (11 hour!) film about the American Civil War. I first saw this over Christmas some years ago, on BBC 2 I think. The film, which took 5 years to make (longer than the war) is available on DVD. Compelling viewing for someone like me who had ancestors who, according to my grandfather, fought on both sides. Many thanks for your version, and apologies if you knew all that anyway.
thankyou for your comment and thanks for the information it was very interesting and i woudn't mind finding a copy of that dvd it would make good viewing .
