a quick history on Robotics for my APUSH project at NCHS.

Very short and undeveloped. I could spend hours on the ASIMO alone, let alone the entire history.

  • The fear of robots taking over the world might be some sort of basic fear everyone has. People fear being replaced by anything, from someone with better qualifications at a job, to a new lover in a relationship, to a few friend replacing you in a social circle, to robotic or genetically engineered supermen. It's probably shown in sci-fi more overtly (mankind being removed entirely from the dominant creature on Earth) because that seems more "probably" to many.

  • @RojOdio yes but as it is with robots, they are tools, and are only as dangerous as the ones who make them.

  • @OperationDARE Of course, I have no fear of technology, just technology used foolishly by people with no idea of the consequences. Frankly, I welcome more extensive use of robotics.

  • @RojOdio that's good. I believe that when we let go of our fear of the unknown that we all can progress better

  • @RojOdio Robots taking over is science fiction. We can program them to be nice to organisms (Which most robots, except military bots are today and will be.) and they're only as dangerous as the engineers who make them, like what OperationDARE said.
