Thanks for posting this. As a "boomer", I saw this show on my black and white TV in the 50's. I had forgotten what Stu did for a living. Did not Jackie later become Zelda on Dobie Gillis, and then state representative in California? Note that TV then had a moral lesson on each show. No mindless sex, violence or car chases.

This episode, aka "Father Takes a Pet", was actually the fifth episode of season three, originally telecast on November 28, 1952.
