making plasma lightnings in a light bulb with a HV source made of an old tv flyback transformer driven by a 2N3055 silicon tranzistor. there isn't an easyer way to get high voltage then this : 1 transformer easy to get, 1 cheap tranzistor(verry cheap), 2 power rezistors (1-5W each, 27 and 240 ohms) and some wire (2m, must rezist 2-4 amps depending on the power sorce) the scheme is easy to find on internet, also there is an more powerful version with 2 tranzistor, wich is easy too. to keep the trenzistor cool you can use ani pice of aluminium plate (2-5mm thick) or an special radiator for the tranzistor's case, or adapt 1 you have. The power sorce has 14v 6a (uses just 1.8-2.2A). you can use ani transformewr with output between 6 and 32V wich u need to rectify then filtrate with 1 capacitor(the biger the beter, at least 2000uF, an for the traf, i recomad 16-30v :D) the output is not dangerous but it can severe burn what it arks to if it's flesh, so don't touch it! makes halls in the skin!

  • this is plasma... not lightning

  • lightning is plasma

  • How was that done?

  • put the output of the hv source on top of the bight bulb and touch the socket of the light bulb with a grounded wire.

  • Ah, I seen some people having fun with transformers from microwaves

  • lol, i can't make the lightning in a bulb with a mot, too low voltage and frequency :) i have also a movie with some arks with a 2.2kv transformer and lots of amps, like 0.8 or around

  • Kool !

  • @stalkersas i got none of that

  • Is a Flybak :)

  • can the "antenna"make streamer without lightbulb,like a teslacoil?

  • The problem with mots is, that the frequency is too low for this as you said. It's possible to do this with an inverter for ccfls (600V, ~100kHz).
