It depends on whether it is a fresh kill.... if the fish has a bad smell, then it is no longer safe to eat. If its a fresh kill, under survival situations i would probably eat it. But one must be very careful cause as you said fish spoils very easily in tropical conditions.

eew omg no that is NOT edable,well it depends on the look of it and it it stinks and if it has rotten or someth yacky around or in it,if it smells fresh and looks pretty good and if u poke it around to see if its okay -yeah u can eat it,well ofcourse afther you fry it first,boiling aint a good idea,itll just come apart,..well if u like a fish stew..shure boil it XD but id poke it somewhere over the fire and fry it :)

fish will spoil in less than an hour unless its under 35 degrese or so. i wouldnt even handle it to use as bait. you can go a week without food, but if you come down with food poisoning, and your stuck in the bush, you are going to die. you wont have any help, no one to make you food or get you water, and there will be no medicine.
