  • This upload is fantastic, riveting actually... thank you for posting this. My heart breaks for those children losing each other one by one, their very best friends in all the world... never knew this much of their history, thank you again :)

  • Not inherited, but learned it. Some early biographies (pre-Barker" insisted that her classmates heard it. By the time she went to Brussels, I expect, she had lost it.

  • According to Mrs Gaskell, Patrick Bronte had lost all trace of his Irish accent by the time the family moved to Howarth - and certainly when she met him. So, how could Charlotte have inherited his Irish accent?
