You don't need a C grade in GCSE if you have at least a BTEC Diploma level 2. I know I just passed selection today.

You need at least a C at GCSE Maths and English and at least a score of 60 in your BARB test to be able to join these guys....but even then there is a long wait due to the cuts

I didn't have good math and English qualification but I got a NVQ level two in public services so I was allowed to apply.

@scotlandthebrave97 No to join direct (DE) you need 5 GCSES or equivalent. If you are a Voluntary Transfer (VT) then no, you just come from the trade you were in. I'm talking after 10 years service so visit your Careers Office for any updates.

Think they like a C in maths and English. May have changed since i joined. Best if you go down to your local careers office and they will be more then happy to help. Be aware there is normally a lot of writing within the job so my may struggle if you didn't do so well in school English.
