Rwandan President Paul Kagame and the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Laurent Kabila met on the border separating their countries, to cement thawing relations between the two states. Hundreds gathered at the border town of Gisenyi to witness the historic meeting between the two leaders.

I'm appalled by Kabila's alliance with Kagame, 40 of whose past and current government officials ave been indicted by a Spanish court for genocide against the Hutu ethnicity within Rwanda, and whom most people following Central Africa know to be principally responsible for the war war waged in Eastern Congo, across the Rwandan/Congolese border. The world can thank Barack Obama for this nightmare.

This is very encouraging to see. Its about time - way past time actually. We need to solve our own problems and realize that we have been played and manipulated by the West in subtle and methodical ways that most of our people are so ignorant about. I really hope that this is the start of a fundamental shift from the senseless loss of lives in this region.

Kabila has really suprised me, I never thought he had in it to rule that vast country. If these two work together I can see a lasting peace in the DRC.
