  • Whe all of you sittin at computer monday morning quaterbacks are bashing those who made a judgement call to use the booster, maybe just maybe you and your department dont have the tactical judgement to know when and where to use the booster. A lot of depts have taken the booster off because they dont have control over their firefighters. Its a judgement call.I would rather have water quick than having to stretch the preconnect and have the fire out.. this car was not fully involved

  • @toxickavenger >>---> Amen!

  • The fact that anyone would even attempt to use a booster line to knock down a fully involved room is disturbing. In Texas, booster lines are not allowed for fire attack in any situation. No, an 1 3/4 would not have saved the car, but its about giving the firefighter the apropriate gpms need to safely fight the fire. What if the firefighter had to go to a full fog pattern to protect himself? I don't think a full fog from a booster line would be sufice.

  • Some so called expert said that fire engines should be lime yellow and many departments jumped on it without every really checking it out. It took many years for these dept to return to red. Some still have the yellow apparatus, but they are no safer than the red rigs. In my opinion pulling booster lines off fire apparatus because some so called expert says they are insufficient is a terrible mistake. You don't need an elephant gun to kill a mosquito.

  • how many dB does the old Engine 11 has ?

  • @PauletteVFD671 Really? He's wearing gloves....

  • holy shit did they really open the hood with theyre hands, thats how people get burnt man gloves or no gloves 2000 degree metal is still 2000 degrees then he reached under the hood, holy balls you woulda just got in serious crap in my dept.

  • One thing wrong here. Your never suppose to fight a vehicle fire from infront of the bumper(s).

  • Amen, all of our engines don't have boster lines but our attack unit does. It's way easier to use a boster line in situations like this, the fire isn't going anywhere and isn't endangering any structure, so why use and elephant gun when a mosquito line will work just as good???????????

  • Why is that? Do you think a 1 3/4 inch line would have saved this car? How about a 2 1/2 inch line or maybe a 3 inch line. I've seen them put a totally involved room out with one blast from a booster line. Where is the idea to get rid of booster lines on fire engines coming from?
