@Loiginer oh I have many friends who are Orthodox. I think the Orthodox faith is beautiful. God Bless you! Martin Luther did, but Lutherans today for the most part do not I am afraid.

Actually, also Luther prayed to the saints, there is nothing complicated into it, as we ask prayer from our brothers here in earth, we can ask for prayer for our brother and sisters that are already saints in heaven...

@Loiginer not quite.. Ave Maria is a Latin Prayer that mostly comes from the bible.. I was surprised it is being sung in a Lutheran Church, because it is a prayer to the Virgin Mary, and most lutherans (with the acception of say the Anglo-Lutheran Catholic Church) are against praying TO the saints.
