Artist crayon is layered on Colourfix paper first on the cool zone, then on the warm zone at low temperature, and finally on the warm zone at high temperature.

-----------------------

This series of simple exercises illustrate how wax-based drawing media (artist crayon, oil pastel, colored pencil) behave with Art Spectrum Colourfix Paper on the Icarus Drawing Board. Other sanded pastel surfaces like UArt, Wallis, Pastelbord, and more can be used in place of Colourfix, as long as individual differences are taken into account. For the purpose of these exercises, artist crayons can be substituted with oil pastels.
