Villa Urquiza style tango - Ramiro Gigliotti and partner improvise a tango at Salon Canning in December 2005. This was a special milonga to honor the 70th birthday of Pupi Castello. Ramiro studied with legendary Villa Urquiza milonguero, 'El Turco' Jose, who is 75 yrs old and still teaching in BsAs. 'El Turco' Jose is considered one of the best dancers of his generation.

  • So, that is "Villa Urquiza" style, like you said. How many other Villas are in Buenos Aires? 10? 20? 40? What are their styles?

  • Tentative, I would say Todo corazon, recording of 1951, by the orquesta of Julio De Caro. This is a fine choice for Ramiro. His partenaire is radiating with a somewhat misty energy that make his elegant firuletes reach through with plenitude. Muy lindo.

  • Does anyone know this song? What orchestra is playing?

    Thank you.

  • Superb Musicality. Watch how closly Ramiro dances to the musical phrases. Incredible.
