  • Why do people bash what they don't know how to do?

Martial arts is about more than fighting and defense.

  • he must play as goutetsu in a street fighter movie he'd b perfect...

  • I think everyone knows that it is not practical, but others argue that it has indirect effects such as enhancing basics. Still, it is fun to do the acrobatics and is a great work out, but of course, you need to balance show vs practical.

  • ha. this is why comments should not even be allowed on here. it gives people who would not be allowed to speak in public an open forum for their shennanigans. thanks to wngo70 for a little common sense. he must be older than 12

  • well your wrong, the original tkd from korea had a lot of flying kicks and jumps, cuz tkd's main purpose was to fight against cavalry, so the flying kicks and jumps were used to knock soldiers of horses

  • guys lol. this is a demonstration team. so no need to bash on him just because "acrobatics isn't used in fighting". of course it isn't used but these guys are a demo team.

  • maybe its for intimidation

  • True theres no use of acrobats in martial arts but a person must be capable to do it because there must be nothing holding a martial artist back

  • I've done Taekwondo, Jujitsu, Boxing and Thai boxing, in all my time doing martial arts I've never seen a use for acrobatics.

Acrobatics in martial arts, in my opinion is an 80's relic of American martial art films. It has somehow devolved into the belief among some practitioners that looking flash means you are strong, skilled and going to come out the victor.
