I am not an amputee.
I am a prosthetist.
Sometimes it's not enough to know how legs work.
Sometimes you have to walk in them for yourself.
This is me practicing on 2 above knee prostheses after one week.
I have a ways to go before I can walk half as well as my patients.
It is my hope that with practice I will gain new insights that I can draw from to better care for my patients. http://www.adaptpo.com

  • a friend of mine is a real optimist, when he got a prothese leg he started decorating it and now it has becomen a piece of art instead of metal :D

  • haha Awesome!

  • never realised what was happening till the end nice one, if you really want the best for your patients check this out google prosthetic leg comfort sock let me know what you think

  • he does not know how hard its on with out legs iv broken my left knee cap 2 times but thank s to god im still walking well barelt sometimes i walk a little funny

  • thats actually a really good idea. so even as a person that hasn't had and amputated leg you can relate to your patients and help them get used to it and give them tips from your experience with the prosthetic legs.

  • sad.dont you wish you have real legs.what did happend was you born like that or was it a accident ):

  • SO COOL

  • Y'know, it seem like this kind of thing should be a standard part of an apprenticeship program in your field. I bet it would be a boon to the entire trade if all starting prosthetists had this kind of intimate understanding of how the devices work and how your clients experience them.

  • Cool....

  • I wish all prosthetists would do this. Hell of a job though as a faux bilateral AK.
