In the begining of 1941 Germany and Russia were allies, Brits were far away, Americans were not involved in the European matters. In this case Bulgaria had no protection against the Germans. We could cooperate (what we did) or resist (which was not reasonable at this time).
We should not forget that this happens only 23 years after the great defeat in the WWI and for Bulgaria this was the only chance to reunite its lost regions.

The King of Bulgaria sold his people to the Nazi regime in order to save himself!!! But given his choices both were bad... Side with Russia, or side with Germany... Bulgaria was quickly being surrounded by the Germans... and at the time Russia, didn't appear to be doing well... For the Greeks and Bulgarians who believe what they tell them... here shows the area of original Macedonia... this also shows where the what is now called Macedonia (FYROM) part is in comparison.

You speak lies my friend or you are not well informed. King Boris III Bulgaria in "order to save himself" did NOT dispatch bulgarian troops to Russia and thats why Hitler killed him. Greetings.
