This is the first three-dimensional, muscle-driven simulation of a full running gait cycle. Muscle are represented by lines, which change from blue to red as the muscle activates. It was created using OpenSim, which is open-source, musculoskeletal modeling software: https://simtk.org/home/opensim

  • how did you make the man, and how did you make him run? Is it from a program or what?

  • A little fast and hard to keep up with... but great to see the individual muscle firing patterns. These videos are so helpful

  • Awesome! Are you at Stanford?

  • THANK YOU!!! I've been looking for this type of software for ages now.
