i have all the stuff but when it askes me to plug it in it wont recognize my touch, and it wont let me click to chose it either

Check what your verdion is on the general in settings. See if the firmware matches up to it.

The site appulos is very close to being shut down but the owner managed to keep it up if you go over to the website there is more info. The problem is that you need to download firefox. This recognizes the file format and save it correctly unlike safari. you can then open it with iTunes.
