David, thanks for posting this. I've been telling my daughter about this video for years and now she finally had a chance to see it for herself. Saw you live at the Rhode Island School of Design back in '82(?) and still talk about the show even now. Every one knows my deal by now when I see an ad for Stomp, I break into "Let me tell you about a guy named David Van Tieghem..."
Wow. I remember this "way back when" on Alive from Off Center. Loved this film and the work you did on Home of the Brave. So good to "re-discover" you here on YouTube, for you are still one of the best percussionists around.
so great to see this again- I've been telling people about it for years, ever since seeing it on either MTVs the Cutting Edge or on PBS... bless the youtube... this clip really inspired me- not to be a musician per se but to the possibilities of video as art... so happy to see this clip and favorite it- thanks!
