@kamakasibat If you can't hear the resemblance, listen to this whole album, then listen to goat of mendes, then choronzon, then words that go unspoken...it's called progression. Sure, they're not as heavy as they used to be - but still.

One thing that makes Akercocke so good is their atmosphere; not many bands create enough of it. A reason why they are on the top my list, also, is because their style of metal is quite hard to define imo. I mean, its death metal sometimes but it can get really nasty and become black metal.
