Even with a Partner, you will have an opportunity to experience 'Secret Lessons' with Kiefer in Foxtrot Forest if you 'unlock' the Event by practicing alone after the 20th Day at the Dance Hall at least once. See 'A Tale of Betrayal' for the result of jilting Klaus for Kiefer. This is 'Part II' of the conflict that can occur between Klaus (or any partner) and Kiefer when you try to balance 'secret lessons' with lessons with your Partner. why does everyone, no matter where I go, say that you can't have Keifer the first time in story mode? then what did I do? o.o' I got this scene in the first time I played, (but I didn't had a partner (I was going 100% for Keifer only), so I didn't had the conflict) keifer was my partner, the first gameplay. the marriage ring etc too. so what's with that?

There are only certain points in the game where you will have the option to become some one else's partner as in this situation with Klaus.
