Star Ocean: Second Evolution Boss #4 - Zandor (Universe difficulty)

Another boss-like fight that I could've just ignored and saved myself a lot of anguish, but something in the back of my head would've kept nagging me if I skipped it. It took me several tries to bring this guy down too. It got easier when I went ahead and grabbed Combat 2 from Hilton and put 5 points into Godspeed. I gave Rena a Ring of the Accursed to boost her defense, but I don't know if it made a difference or not considering the difficulty... I doubt the Foot Insignia made a difference either since 90% of the attacks I made in front of him were blocked. Eh, every bit of damage boost helps.

i don't remember this fight, and i've played through the game countless times. do you have to pick Rena at the beginning and then do some obscure PA or something?

Yes, there's a multi-part PA that you can trigger in Herlie in Rena's scenario that will lead to this battle.

i went to this place early and triggered it before the krosse caves, it was a big mistake, lv 8 fighting this guy lol, hopefully i can still do it when i get to this place in the actual story, when i'll be stronger

The voices aren't bad... they just don't sound right to me. Same with the character designs... I prefer the original PS1 version. I love Zandor's attack by the way, and fighting somebody while eating blueberries would be very weird. Great video.

@thegreatpadaxes I like Rena.... i've never been into swordsmen. besides, if i was a Star Ocean character, i'd be a fist fighting healer just like her!

I remember fighting this battle back on the PS1. Felt so powerful every time I beat it. Of course I just used healing magic, but your method is more intelligent.

This fight never made sense to me. I thought only Nedians had the power of healing? But Zand is living on Expel. Plot holesssss.
