@2asek Southeast Asia before being occupied by the Europeans shared almost the same culture therefore having similar identities, in the Philippines though very western in the sense their traditional costumes are similar to that of her neighbors. In ASEAN countries Batik seems to be very common and traditional fashion trend also the same.
@am1966ath You seem like such an expert. Let me ask you this, then - if you are an airline company and you want to restructure and reform your company, where would you START? I think what Garuda is doing is viable. They started with improving their looks and safety record. Of course they are still below their competitors like SQ, MH, TG, or CX but they're getting on that level. Garuda has joined Skyteam, increased its routes, and gained accolades. It's a good start!
@eriquerique But I do hope that Garuda will start flying to Europe as Indonesia is a faboulous tourist destination and people are very friendly although there is to much tourism in Bali. Lets hope that Garuda can compete with its formidable competitors.
@eriquerique First of all, new "look" and new, expensive aircraft isn t everything..you can have new corporate image and billion dollar airbuses and boeings and still be lousy. In mid 1990S GARUDA flew to large parts of the world..after 1997 it became basically an inter-Indonesian airline with some routes to Hongkong/Singapore/Tokyo/Melbourne/Jeddah where before it had flown to all major european cities /Los Angeles and Auckland. Garuda was known for its delays and its rock-bottom fares.
@am1966ath Nobody is saying that just because we have new logotype and new uniform we automatically become a better airline. But these are basic improvements, and if we want to improve, we have to start somewhere! Garuda is in the process of improving every aspect of its service and technology, why you seem condescending is beyond me. Plus, it's not just logotype and uniforms, Garuda also bought brand-new aircrafts, increasing routes, and have achieved positive worldwide recognition!
i dont think it looks unique, Singapore and Malaysia Airlines uniform looks similiar....Thai or Vietnam Airlines, they looks more unique. but it looks good
