Damn! talk about a slice of history! I had a Bug "Scorpion" in 1965 with 2 Mac 100's. I drove and handled just like yours in the video. Those were utterly exciting and awesomly fun to drive. If only we could turn the clock back... Thanks for the great video.

Yes, that is a Bug kart in the video, it's a reproduction Bug Wasp. Faye Pierson is making these karts again, she attends most of the vintage karting events and races she is over 80, but you would NEVER know it!.Check out my video from New Castle of the dual rear engine karts, lots of big names from kartings past in that class, Lake Speed, Terry Ives, others... more photos vids at VKAKarting com.

why is the frame so flexible, the wheels keep lifting up

Simple question - complex answer. This kart chassis was designed some 50 years ago. The frames back then were made very light and very flexible. There is more horse power on this kart and less weight than found on most modern Sprint karts, the front gets "light" under acceleration. Lifting of inside wheels is required, by design weight transfer occurs by flexing of chassis - this allows a kart to work without a differential and creates bite on the outside front tire to make a kart corner.
