You're welcome glad to help. We sang this in school when I was a kid and we used to sing "Most Highly FLAVORED lady" insted of "Favored" and the music teacher would get mad. ;-)

@jillgivler thank i enjoyed that thats really help no joke

@TheDemonwolf14 The song is the story of Gabriel the Angel -"his wings were drifted snow, his eyes as flame" - coming to the Virgin Mary to tell her she would be mother of the son of God - that she is the "most highly favored lady". This story is called "The Magnificat". Sting is "the devil forlorn" and the little angels are keeping him in line.

i never get the video what with it?

I never thought that until you mentioned it 126UP, but it makes sense.
I always wondered why, if this was a song about Christ's birth, did Sting look so darned pissed in the video. And why he seemed irritated by the angels dancing and flying happily around him. And why that one angel looked startled at one point.
With your comment, I wonder no more. He IS portraying Satan in it, and is naturally pissed because he knows he has lost with Christ's birth.
Very good observation!

This song sounds creepy. Love it though. x3

It's a medieval song. ;-)

haunting...one of the best versions of Christmas songs in the last half of the 20th Century...and still holds up today. The music and arrangement kinda reflect the "darkness and barreness" of the winter solstice

This is amazing! I am not religious, but I still think it is awesome!

If I am ever visited by the Gabriel, and he tells they tell me what is up, I will meekly bow too. In the name of Christ, all is beautiful. Thank you for my life. God bless all.
