Police: Tasered Baseball Fan 'Mentally Unstable'

Police tasered an allegedly drunk fan at an Oakland A's baseball game Tuesday after they say he yelled profanities and refused to leave. Police say the suspect is being held at a psychiatric ward for observation and could face criminal charges. (Aug. 6)

Fuck this. I've been to TASER International in Scottsdale, AZ and taken the LE training class.

The Taser instructors specifically say OVER AND OVER, use the Taser as a last-resort, when there are no other reasonable options except lethal force.

These PIGS don't know how to use their toys. Officers are trained to apprehend a person. 6'1 is not as huge as this jackass is trying to portray, and the man is 67 years old.

How many cops were in that video? Five. The Taser was NOT necessary.

Someone mentioned this very early in the thread, but the "fan" there is Tommy Brusso. If you have ever been around him (and most people commenting probably never have), you would know how mentally unstable he is. He's a very large man, not that old and prone to violence. Most of the time he is a stark-raving lunatic. Anyway, the point is, if you are attempting to defend him by painting him as some old, feeble unfortunate man, spend an afternoon with him. Your attitude will change.

the police were well in the rules, by the way , (the taser is used when apprehending ANY PERSON IS DEEMED not safe for OFFICER SAFETY ) sorry AZ taser training community. Ah yes, another classic case of someone "causing a disturbance" and "resisting arrest". This is the typical police excuse for arresting someone they don't want to fairly deal with. Judging from the video, he didn't look like he was resisting or making a scene; they could have nicely escorted him out w/out the use of force. So sick of this abuse of authority. It happened to me, and the police can say ANYTHING against you, and if you don't have video, they'll get away with it.
