Breuckelen Gin Distillery NEW YORK 2011

It was in South Brooklyn somewhere on an industrial site under a
highway-pass off a tube stop called prospect heights (im sure ive
heard that place in a movie or book somewhere... After being warmly
greeted even after not phoning in advance I was shown to the
workshop by Geno an ex-engineer turned distiller. Breukelen Gin is
meticulously handcrafted from locally sourced Wheat and a unique
blend of botanicals including ginger and rosemary. This balanced, full
flavored gin is crisp and clean with spice of ginger and hints of
rosemary enhancing the fresh juniper notes. Although it is ideal for
sipping, it also makes an excellent cocktail. I tried it in a G&T and its
pretty nuts. The flavour alone makes it feel like a completely different
drink. The wheat spirit base is made in house and its distilled twice
keeping the wheat grain essence involved in the flavour and holds the other
botanicals superbly.
