This makes me think so many thoughts. Like: 1) Why were we in Vietnam? Was it really in response to a military coup that we had no choice but to respond to? Were we responding to a communist threat that in reality was not as serious as we thought? What can we learn from our efforts? It reminds me of the Brook Benton song "Too Drunk to Fuck." Were we as a nation to "drunk" with power to realize the reality that stood before us? Were we not in the right state of mind to "fuck" Vietnam?
