@HItoNZ It's good that you mention that, because the mechanism makes a noise almost a tenth of a second before the shaft actually gets going. I actually was looking at footage of an ulua I didn't quite stone the other day, and I thought if I was three frames (a tenth of a second) quicker with my shot then I would have stoned it. So now I feel validated. My aim is perfect, it's the gun that's too slow!
This is a fascinating subject. My buddy and I always talk about fish doing "The Matrix" or turning away at the last second. It's infuriating for us lol! That said, I wish there were better slow-mo underwater cams. I love slow-mo shots to see how the fish dodged. One thing for certain though, I know 100% the fish dodge from the sound of the gun firing. Which bring us to another point, how quiet can we make spearguns??? Btw I find that toau/taape/roi are best shot with 3prong. Makes no noise
