Me riding my friends horse, bearing in mind that I havent ridden him for a year, and he is a wee bit big standing at 17.2hh, so please be nice!

you sit him like a dream!! im envious! there is a 17.2 hand Swedish warmblood at my stable and his canter is SOOO HUGE! ugh. you just get thrown out of the saddle. its a pain. any tips??

@ReesesPieces11 lengthen your stirrups or ideally don't have any for a bit, and loads of sitting trot trying to collect and lengthen his stride, if you get a really nice collected trot and then push up into canter whilst keeping it collected and really sitting deep, even if you only manage 4/5 strides, bring him back and do it again. You'll find that your seat will improve and you'll be able to push him more forward whilst not being throw out the saddle

you have a great position and a wonderful calm seat for such a large horse with suck a big stride. You must be a really good rider to just hop on a large horse after not riding him in a year!
