This is my 1970 Porsche 914...I spend a lot of time to come up with this whole 1970 theme together.
Facts...In 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans was won by a Porsche 917K...A Porsche 916 came in 6th, but it won the GTS class...so my 914 is from 1970, I was born in 1970. I hope you will enjoy all the work that was put into it.

  • Porsch>e<, not Porsch! :)

  • @27FreakDS OK??? but who are you correcting?? Not me...I wrote Porche everywhere

  • Thank you, I did go to the German day this year, it was a great event...but I went to a parade of the VW day...but I'll be back for good next year...thank you for the nice comment...cheers

  • Are you in pca (porsche club of America)?

  • @USAWreckedExotics No, not yet, I just got my car back from the shop about 2 weeks ago...July 29th to be exact. Now I'm looking around for clubs, events and shows.

  • Nice car. By the way, you got wrong information. The eleven 916 prototypes never raced. Only 914-6 GT were raced. One 914-6 GT raced and won the GTS class at Le Mans in 1970. The car was white and had number 40. This very car was prepared by french importer Sonauto who was official importer of Porsche in France. Car still exists. Two 914-6 GT raced at Le Mans in 1971 but did not finish.

  • @johannes914 Thank you for the clarification...I knew it was a 914-6...just did not had the facts corect....I seing the picture of the car # 40...I just thought it was too plain...I always liked the 917K Gulf-Porsche look...so it is a mix of both...Thank you again for the info...cheers

  • I saw you driving this beauty on the Jamaica Way last Wednesday, unfortunately we were driving in opposite directions and could not enjoy it thoroughly, but it is really amazing!! I hope you bring it to the German car day or Porsche day at the Larz Anderson auto museum next year.

    Cheers!!!

  • @mspraggins Well, that was the info I got from the net....the pre productions were made in 1969, the first year that they went in production was in 1970...I know that the winer of the GTS class was a 916...the 914 never raced on Le Mans, but for sure the 916s did. Thank you for the info anyways

  • The Porsche that came in 6th in 1970 was a 914/6 GT. The Porsche 916 never officially raced. The 11 916s that were built were prototypes or as some would say, pre-production.
