I like how there is actual killing and death in this show.

What Virgil is doing here is testing our Max to see if he wants to remain the cap bearer or to live a normal life. If Max wants to remain the capbearer then he needs to fight for it to better appreciate what power he has and that he needs to step up his game. Vrig also may have been tired of Max's constant complaining ofbhow he doesnt want to be the cap bearer!

Norman eats a lot "unique" things for breakfeast and lunch XD

It is written that The Mighty One shall not be pretentious.

Nah, it's a good point. But perhaps it's not worth thinking about the logic of old cartoons too much.

@BTIsaac I would like to think so but at the same time I feel as if that would be a waste of time too. I guess since he knows everything (and it's all written on his walls anyway) he doesn't have anything to worry about. But still, Why put Max (the real one) through that for no real reason except perhaps to give the audience another episode and some uncertainty? I'm overthinking this big-time. I'm sorry. :-)

I think he knows, he's just playing along.

It's pretty bizarre that Virgil was unsure who the real mighty one was considering all the world-saving and other things that Max has done so far. Not to mention the doorway in his basement.
"I will be forced to teach you to fly..." When I take over the world, I'll have to remember that one
