I'm doing a deck in a couple days, my unit is 3500 PSI at 4.2 gallons a minute, have used it before and works fine, the skill level must go up as the power goes up, like driving a fast car on a gravel road, just gotta have skills to pay the bills and of course be careful / not retarded

The pressure washer you're using is too strong for a deck. I wouldn't go any stgronger than 1800 psi. Then you don't have to worry about those marks unless you hold it in one spot for a very long time.
