@nimrodberliner I was 11 when this was out and kicking.Thought it was Slade at the time and it still does sound like them today.Brilliant record.

Identical twins in the line up. I saw them in 71 at the Corn Exchange in Kings Lynn. At the time they were as big as Free, Sabbath, as well as the Pop bands such Sweet, Mungo, Bays, Nazareth, Glitter etc. etc Really dissapointed that they only really managed 2 hits. They were much better than that. This rates in my all time top 10. Where are they now?

actually they were/are brilliant musicians.
the drummer also palyed with the sweet.
i think the video is out of sync slightly.

The Hunt, a Canadian band, covered this (very well, in my opinion) on their 1980 album "Back on the Hunt".

@Zapata935 Could be....! I saw a band called 'Blackfoot' play at our (tiny) college union (I read that they didn't do anything live under that name?) playing in about '80 or '81 and they played Standing in the road. It must have been Eddie with his goldtop - it was just pure class. He must have been f###ing excellent for me to still remember so clearly after 30 years!
