Blackfoot Sue - Standing in the road 1972

(Instrumental)

I'm standing in the road
A man without a home
My friends all pass me by
And never say a word.

I'm feeling so alone
And all the things I'v known
Just seem to disappear
And never reappear.

(Instrumental)

I feel the rain and cold
My clothes have all been sold.
And all my shouts for help
Just seem to go unheart.

I'm just a lonely man
Won't someone lend a hand
Don't leave me on my own
Just standing in the road.

(Instrumental)

I'm standing in the road
A man without a home
My friends all pass me by
And never say a word.

I'm feeling so alone
And all the things I've known
Just seem to disappear
And never reappear.

Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na ...

(Instrumental)

  • @nimrodberliner I was 11 when this was out and kicking.Thought it was Slade at the time and it still does sound like them today.Brilliant record.

  • Identical twins in the line up. I saw them in 71 at the Corn Exchange in Kings Lynn. At the time they were as big as Free, Sabbath, as well as the Pop bands such Sweet, Mungo, Bays, Nazareth, Glitter etc. etc Really dissapointed that they only really managed 2 hits. They were much better than that. This rates in my all time top 10. Where are they now?

  • @Zapata935

    actually they were/are brilliant musicians.

the drummer also palyed with the sweet.

i think the video is out of sync slightly.

  • slade copy cat band

  • The Hunt, a Canadian band, covered this (very well, in my opinion) on their 1980 album "Back on the Hunt".

  • @nimrodberliner same here mate..And yeah it should be tooo...

  • classic sheer classic.

  • @Zapata935 Could be....! I saw a band called 'Blackfoot' play at our (tiny) college union (I read that they didn't do anything live under that name?) playing in about '80 or '81 and they played Standing in the road. It must have been Eddie with his goldtop - it was just pure class. He must have been f###ing excellent for me to still remember so clearly after 30 years!

  • great to hear this classic again!

    tamucha!
